Kay’s Safe Space provides therapeutic counseling to adolescents and adults in a nurturing creative environment that allows clients to speak their truth. Having worked over 15 years with adolescents in the Juvenile Justice System and correctional settings, I was exposed to children who suffered multiple traumas , and had a number of psychosocial stressors. I felt compelled to provide a Safe Space for adults with a history of childhood traumas, behavioral issues or substance abuse. Together we will work on their individual needs using a combination of treatment modalities such as CBT, Play Therapy and Trauma Informed Approaches.
I have extensive experience working with adults and adolescents who have a history of abuse; sexual, verbal physical abuse. Past incarceration or truancy and acting out behaviors.
At Kay’s Safe Space- I believe every client has the potential to reach their ultimate level of mastery and competence. They just have road blocks or humps along the way. Together- we will use a combination of Play Therapy , Cognitive Behavior Therapy or trauma informed approaches to get them to self actualize.
