Reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, but taking this step shows your strength and commitment to yourself—well done! I believe that every person already possesses strengths and skills to heal, but sometimes layers of trauma or pain can make it difficult to do so leading to unwanted symptoms or behaviors such as anxiety, depression, addiction, etc. My approach focuses less on a person’s diagnosis and more on finding triggers, processing trauma, and establishing goals & healthy coping skills.
As a certified EMDR therapist, I strive to help clients process and perceive their trauma differently, leaving them to feel free of their negative cognitions that have been holding them back from being their true authentic self. I also integrate a person-centered approach with Cognitive Behavioral interventions, relaxation, and mindfulness practices.
