Kayla has graciously provided psychotherapy to adults and adolescents within the addiction and mental health field for over ten years. She has also supervised aspiring clinicians and organized consultation groups. She has led mindfulness-based workshops and facilitated group therapies to include implementation of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy programs. Kayla has gained invaluable experience directly from the people she has worked with over the years and has cultivated a therapeutic approach that balances acceptance and the need for change. She adopts a compassionate, strength-based perspective that not only builds the therapeutic alliance, but increases probability for meaningful change to occur.
Kayla's passion is helping others by providing structure, respect, and gentle inquiry. She believes in clients holding themselves accountable to become leaders of their change process. She weaves in mindfulness, urging the practice of nonjudgmental awareness. She ensures clients feel empowered to use techniques to tap into the moment.
Shanti means "inner peace" in Sanskrit. Kayla lives in Denver with her husband. She enjoys time in nature to include hiking and gardening. She also has a passion for travel.
