If you are struggling , your current situation does not need to be a permanent destination . I went into counseling because I like people and I like helping them process or figure things out . Everyone has issues , some are more complex than others , sometimes you just need someone with an objective point of view to listen and help you sort through things.
My goal when we meet is that you feel that you have been "heard". I use a collaborative style of therapy that involves an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (talk therapy that changes the way we think) , intuitive therapy ( uncovering what you could be sensing but may not be conscious of) and a strength based therapy.
If you are struggling with a substance use disorder I would love to work with you on modifying, moderating or quitting. If you are grieving a loss of a loved one , grieving a loss of a relationship or a beloved pet , I would love to help you. I have special interest in infant and child loss and also loss of adult children or grandchildren.
