Hello, my name is Katya Castro. I am a psychotherapist and I like helping people to deal with their everyday difficulties and build happier and fuller lives. For quite a some time I have been working with children, adolescences/young adults and their families. I very much enjoy helping youth who feel lost, depressed and disconnected from their families or peers to find their own way to reconnect, heal and grow. I enjoy seeing my clients, overcome their anxiety and grow stronger, learn more effective life skills and successfully apply them in their everyday challenges.
My specialty is helping people to develop healthy self-esteem, strong coping skills and ability to self-regulate their emotions even in the most challenging situations.I work with clients suffering from anxiety, depressive moods and difficulties to deal with a rapid changes in their lives. I widely apply Holistic view on the therapy process.
My approach to psychotherapy is eclectic,I use elements of different theories that involve cognition, imagination and everyday living skills. In my work I employ mindfulness, journaling, mediation and other elements of DBT. I also use EDMR . I always approach my clients with unconditional, positive regard.
