My name is Katrina Freeman and I am an Alabama state licensed counselor and clinical supervisor for associate-level counselors. She has over 30 years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse counseling fields. I have an acceptance-based, client-centered approach to therapy. My passion is helping clients find balance and wellness in their lives.
I primarily work with adult clients working through alcohol/substance abuse, adjustment, stress management, anger management, anxiety, depression, parenting dynamics, and marital/couples' issues. I work with clients to identify and address those psychosocial and other stressors that undermine a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
My therapeutic approach is client-focused reality therapy. I work with clients to challenge anxiety-provoking and negative thoughts through centering and grounding interventions and utilize CBT and Motivational Interviewing to help clients along the journey to wellness.
