My name is Katy Bonds, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach to therapy is client centered, trauma informed, and strengths based. My practice focuses on marriage/couples, children and family as well as individuals seeking support for variety of mental or emotional health issues. In therapy, I take a client center approach to everyone and their story. I will offer a psycho- education about the Adverse Childhood Experience Study, ACE which is a helpful way to provide a humanistic understanding of trauma and how it affects us in everyday life.
With more severe traumas, I can implement a Bi-lateral Stimulation/(EMDR) approach to address day-to-day emotional and behavioral symptoms. For Couples seeking communication and relationship enhancement, I use a Speaker/Listener Technique.
For families looking for parenting support, I draw from a variety of evidenced based parenting curriculums. Overall, I take a Mind/Body/Spirit "Workout" Approach to promote long-term healthy cognitive and emotional regulation.
