Hey! I'm Katie and enjoy working with a wide range of individuals and specialize in treating children, teens and young adults. My specialty areas include mood instability, anxiety, depression, issues related to gender identity and sexuality, difficulty launching into adulthood, and maladaptive coping mechanisms including self-harm and impulsive behaviors. I work well with people who are emotionally sensitive, may feel that they don’t belong, and have difficulty maintaining stable relationships. I strive to help people create a life that’s more enjoyable by learning to tolerate painful emotions and have more pleasant experiences.
My style as a therapist is warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental, while also being direct and active in the therapy process. I believe the therapeutic relationship works best when it's a real relationship between equals that involves mutual respect, collaboration, and sometimes humor.
I utilize Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I incorporate Mindfulness techniques to increase awareness of thoughts and emotions as well as promote relaxation. If you think I might be a good fit for you or your child, please schedule today!

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. In your first few sessions we will explore what brought you to therapy and decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. CBT helps us understand how our thoughts can impact our emotions and actions. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those negative thoughts.
