About
I have an extensive experience working with mental health and substance use issues and supporting families. I enjoy working with individuals and couples; as well as parent coaching. Areas of specialty are anxiety and depression, women's emotional health, aging, trauma, grief and loss, body image and disordered eating, co-dependency, self-esteem, self-harm, and substance abuse/dependence. My approach is adaptive to whom I am working with. I have training in and utilize motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, solution focus, EMDR, 12 step facilitation, as well as psychoeducation.
During my 17 years working in the field of addiction and mental health, I have developed a strong understanding as well as passion for engaging my clients holistically and from a positive psychological approach. I am committed to supporting self discovery and insight through the clinical relationship. I am compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental.
It is important that in this setting you feel comfortable and trust the individual you have chosen to support you as you make life changes and transitions. I do believe in using honesty and humor as tools for healing and care deeply for the clients I work and partner with. I would feel honored in supporting you in your journey.
