Hi, I'm Katie! If you've been endlessly scrolling through PsychologyToday and stumbled upon my profile, welcome.
I work with teens and adults dealing with trauma, anxiety, substance use, burnout, and all the messy parts that can come with simply being a human. I also enjoy working with LGBTQ+ folks and strive to create a space where you don't have to explain or defend who you are.
Starting therapy can be weird. You might not know exactly why you're reaching out, where to start, or even what you're hoping to get out of it yet. That's okay. You don't have to come in perfectly organized.
Therapy with me is pretty conversational. I'm not going to sit quietly waiting for you to figure everything out on your own. We'll talk about what's going on right now, look at patterns that keep showing up, try to understand where they came from, and work on finding ways to cope that actually feel realistic for your life.
Some sessions are heavy. Some involve problem-solving. Sometimes we're laughing because being a person is weird. My goal isn't to tell you what to do. It's to help you make sense of what's going on, feel a little less stuck, and have someone in your corner while you work through it.
