Katie M Claywell
Counselor, MAAT, LPC
If you are struggling with a life situation, anxiety or an emotional disturbance, I offer my genuine guidance through conversation and/or creative expression. It is my goal to see a client's happiness and peace. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor & an Art Therapist. I've been trained as a clinician in traditional talk therapy but also art therapy, allowing a client to open up in a variety of ways. I feel that every person deserves to feel wholeness in his or her life.
The approach I use is very person-centered while utilizing cognitive behavioral techniques. I like to focus on a person's strengths, rather than weaknesses, and provide support through each life challenge. I like to hold a safe environment that encourages self-discovery and self-expression. Working in groups or individually, I can help through art therapy and empathic listening.
The first step to finding happiness is to explore each life challenge. I have experience working with young children, adolescents, adults and elderly. Contact Apple Valley Behavioral Health today to set up your first appointment.
