I believe that we all have important stories to tell. Stories that we hold about ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. Sharing these stories and understanding the emotions and self beliefs tied to them can be important groundwork for self awareness and change. I work with individuals wanting to heal from relational and family trauma, which can be accompanied by anxiety, depression, low self worth, perfectionist and people-pleasing tendencies, and emotional overwhelm/suppression. In therapy, we will work together to make sense of patterns you feel stuck in and how to practice something healthier.
I approach therapy from a person-centered and psychodynamic lens; meaning, I care about creating a safe and authentic relationship with each individual and I view the therapy relationship as a place to learn, take risks, and build new ways of relating to yourself and others. I integrate EMDR, mindfulness, and parts work to aid in trauma healing.
With consistent support and willingness, I believe that people can learn to recognize their own resilience and trust their capacity for well-being. It takes a lot of vulnerability and fortitude to begin therapy and it's an honor to be alongside people as they walk that path.
