About

Katie Hevesi is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor (APC, NCC ) specializing in the treatment of individuals with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, depression and anxiety, and women’s issues. Katie primarily works with ages 10+, young adults, and families. She received her psychology undergraduate degree from the University of North Georgia and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. Katie is working towards being a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). Katie is awaiting full licensure approval.
Katie has gained experience in family, group, and individual therapy. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings, including inpatient psychiatric, court-mandated outpatient, and higher levels of care (inpatient, residential, & PHP) for eating disorders. She uses evidence-based treatment approaches in her work, including DBT, CBT, and FBT.
Her experience includes working with individuals affected by trauma, mood and personality disorders, and grief. Katie enjoys working alongside clients to aide and encourage them to understand their emotions, build strong connections with themselves and others, and enjoy a healthy relationship with their bodies.
