About
I have over 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist working with patients who have anxiety and depression. My expertise is in working with emerging adults as they transition out of college and face an enormity of challenges. There is so much uncertainty facing young adults as they establish independence, begin their careers in earnest, and work to define who they are. I also have additional training in working with mothers and parents transitioning to parenthood. The current estimates are that between 1 in 5 to 1 in 7 moms experience postpartum depression and anxiety and it's the most common complication of childbirth.
My main approach with clients is to help delve deeply into root causes of pain. At the same time, there's often a need to balance this deep exploration with more practical methods for symptom relief. I am passionate about perinatal mental health and have additional training from Postpartum Support International to inform my practice.
I am fully licensed as a professional counselor in the District of Columbia and am able to provide in-network therapy through BCBS ppo plans. I am in the office on Sunday only. A note to prospective clients-I return emails on Sundays when I am in the office.
