The most important indicator for success in therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. If you don't feel connected to the therapist you're working with, you likely won't benefit. I'm confident that my style as a therapist is one you'll feel comfortable with. I am very much “me” in and out of therapy. You may be feeling fearful to take this first step, or possibly overwhelmed by the many therapist pages you're coming across; however, with each step you take, your confidence to take another will build.
I support individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, substance use issues, family/relationship issues, and life transitions. My sessions tend to be a nice blend between conversational and structured. I want clients to have a space where they can speak openly about issues, while also set goals, intentions, and learn skills to manage them.
Life is challenging and I'm aware of the positive impact therapy can have as you navigate those challenges. Something I often speak about in sessions is the idea that we get to choose healthy behaviors, no matter what distressing thoughts we may be experiencing. You may be suffering mentally, yet here you are! You are more powerful than you may realize!
