I've worked in the field for over 18 years in a variety of different roles & settings, including schools, hospitals, & outpatient counseling centers. In my private practice, I provide psychotherapy to adults (both individuals & couples). I view the therapeutic relationship, including the trust & rapport that I build with clients, as fundamental and central to the work. I have experience treating a wide range of presenting issues & concerns with clients from all different backgrounds. I use an integrated approach based on multiple modalities of evidence-based treatment (including humor, because sometimes that's needed too!).
I pride myself on creating a warm, inviting, and nonjudgmental space for clients to feel heard, understood, accepted, and less alone. I also challenge them to explore the roadblocks that might be getting in their way. I help them build tools to navigate life's challenges & utilize their personal strengths to find healthy paths toward reaching their goals.
I particularly enjoy helping clients navigate relationship challenges, difficult family dynamics, life transitions, grief/loss, and developing a positive & secure sense of self, among many other things.
