About
Do you worry often, feel empty, have difficulty connecting with others, or have unresolved stuff from your past that keeps coming up? There’s a misconception that counseling should be done as a last resort or that only people with severe mental illnesses go to counseling. In reality, counseling can be a life altering decision that can change your perspective and enhance your life.
I believe that counseling is a process of learning how to master certain life experiences that we have not yet been able to handle. When we haven't fully integrated these experiences we are unconsciously reliving them, in an effort understand them better, which causes us symptoms and suffering.
I am trained in several treatment approaches and often blend different methods from CBT, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Brain Spotting, and Mindfulness to help with processing these experiences in a more digestible way. In addition, I use breathing and visual exercises to help calm the nervous system and increase awareness of the mind body connection.
