Hi there! My name is Katie Carnohan. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a decade of experience in the field. As a passionate advocate for mental health, I value the importance of both a safe and productive therapy experience. Anxiety is a universal human emotion, but when it is interfering with the life you want to live, you deserve to have support and to know you are not alone. Choosing to embark on the journey of therapy is incredibly brave and is a powerful display of self-care. My therapeutic approach incorporates therapeutic elements of mindfulness-based CBT, ACT, DBT, and internal family systems approaches.
I believe the path toward healing is paved with self-compassion. Learning to hold our experience with compassion is a game changer in moving us from feeling stuck towards feeling free. One of my main goals in our communication is to support you in building a sense of safety and compassion both within therapy and within your internal experience.
I entered this field because I have a passion for helping people. I have learned through my clinical experience that hearing about and holding space for someone's experience is an immense privilege.
