Hello! My name is Katie, and I am licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I identify as neurodivergent (ADHD with Autistic traits), and in particular, I love helping neurodivergent clients learn how to better manage their anxieties and mood difficulties in order to improve their quality of life. Professionally, my passion for the Autistic community started when I was in college. I volunteered two years in a row for a camp for Autistic kids and teens and was amazed at how well I connected with the kids and how rewarding the work was.
Fast forward to 2020, I decided that I wanted to better serve the Autistic community and sought out additional training to become specialized in working with Autistic individuals. Growing up as neurodivergent individual who didn't know they were neurodivergent left me feeling out of place in the world, like I didn't fit in.
All too often, I hear this from my neurodivergent clients as well. I don't want anybody to feel like they are not enough or that they have to change the core of who they are to belong. Rather, I want to help people, like me, reduce their anxiety and depression levels, and create a life worth living where they know they belong.
