Kathy is a graduate of Frostburg State University’s Master of Counseling Psychology program who came to Allegany County from San Francisco. Kathy’s therapeutic approach can best be described as person-centered, highly individualized, and strengths-based, drawing primarily from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, rational emotive therapy, and solution focused therapy.
Kathy spent over 20 years working within the nonprofit sphere, specializing in disability advocacy and community care. She became a therapist, in part, to better serve neurodivergent people who are looking for support in navigating a neurotypical world. Kathy has experience treating anxiety and working with people who are autistic or have ADHD.
