The focus of my practice is healing trauma and I am a Certified Brainspotting Therapist. "Trauma results in a fundamental reorganization of the way the mind and brain manage perceptions. It changes not only how we think and what we think about, but also our very capacity to think.” (Bessel van der Kolk). Brainspotting facilitates access to the trauma so that it can be processed and meaningfully integrated, allowing retrieval of cut-off, frozen parts of self and re-establishing a harmony between mind, body and spirit. Healing involves a reinterpretation of one’s life through the transcendence of suffering.
Brainspotting is my primary modality of treatment. In conjunction with biolateral music, it facilitates access to the deepest parts of one's psyche so that the client can neuro-experientially identify, process, integrate and/or release painful memories and experiences that are not accessible through talk therapy. Brainspotting is the doorway to healing.
All people suffer. But feeling trapped in the suffering and being unable to move through it alienates a person from themselves, their loved ones, and society and causes profound mental anguish and despair. It takes courage and humility to accept that healing does not happen in isolation. The paradox of therapy is that the wisdom one seeks lies within.
