I have a nonjudgmental stance and I don’t shy away from the hard topics. So if you have a heavy topic that it feels difficult to talk about (such as deep depression, substance use, psychosis, shame), let’s connect. People find me warm and easy to open up to. I build strong relationships with clients - and then use that safe relationship to explore the topics YOU want to focus on. I come to sessions curious and with questions/ideas, so we can stay on track and avoid just reviewing your week. I use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to delve into what's happening behind the scenes. I am also a licensed addiction counselor.
My core beliefs, which drive my practice: I believe everyone can recover and I believe everyone deserves to experience a fulfilling and joyful life, however that looks for them. I love working with depression and anxiety - and I have extra experience with: psychosis; gender identity; nonsuicidal self injury; and working with punks/goths/gamers.
