I have many years experience caring for people in the Kansas City area. My background includes extensive Treatment with seniors, adults, and adolescents. I see therapy as a way to help people get back on their feet when life has knocked them down. We all need help at times in our lives that are difficult, or when we have issues we can't figure out on our own. It is a sign of strength when we reach out for support. I have had extensive experience with bipolar disorder, mood disorders, sex positive, nonmonogamy, life crises, divorce, bereavement, parent child problems, marital , trauma, PTSD, adolescents, couples therapy and aging, among other populations.
I have developed an eclectic approach to therapy, incorporating many different techniques so that the client and I can find what works best for them. I use CBT, DBT, family therapy, Gottman's approach to couples therapy, and more. I believe that the single most important factor in the success of therapy is the connection between the client and therapist.
