About
Life in the Bay Area is challenging and the additional stress associated with being LGBTQ+, a woman, pregnant, a parent or all of the above can push it over the edge. Sometimes, especially if you didn’t feel protected or cared for as a child or if something bad has happened to you, life can feel like you’re in over your head. Relationships feel out of control and painful, sleeping is hard and you can’t seem to take care of yourself the way you know you should. Emotions can feel like a roller coaster and daily responsibilities like work or kids are overwhelming. It is possible to feel better and good therapy can help.
I have 25 years of experience with extensive focus on the gender specific mental health needs of women and the LGBTQ+ community. My specialties are Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Substance Use and Parenting. I use CBT, Mindfulness and a neuroscience informed approach to help you figure out what's going on and give you real tools to feel better now.
Trust and confidentiality in a therapeutic relationship is essential. The way you feel about the relationship is key to therapy outcomes. I provide therapy without judgement (truly) and I use compassion, intelligence and occasionally humor (laughing in the face of our fear can be healing) to help you get on the right path. Group Is Currently Closed. Small group for women struggling with effects of trauma including sexual, physical and/or emotional abuse, neglect, assault and domestic violence. Trauma interferes with relationships and day-to-day functioning while giving rise to negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors including alcohol and substance use. CBT and Mindfulness used to support changing thoughts, feelings and behaviors getting in the way of living the life you want. Rather than opening details of your past, we will focus on the present and how to feel ok right now. Welcoming and inclusive to all female identified people, the LGBTQ+ community, and women of color.
