I am Katie Howlett, LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of experience in the mental health field. I hold a Master of Arts in Community and School Counseling from Regent University and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. My work is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and prioritizing the therapeutic alliance and trust building. Remember, you are your own expert so I collaborate heavily with my clients. My priority is to create a safe space for clients to process and reflect on patterns, create mind and body connection, and work towards self actualization.
I enjoy couples work and offer this as a speciality. I offer walk talk therapy at local beaches and parks with consent and in approved areas. I believe mental and physical health are heavily reliant and would like to incorporate physical movement in my practice when appropriate for the client.
I enjoy working with people who engage in open conversation and laughter at times. I hope my clients are willing to put effort in and out of session, are ready to heal, and live the lifestyle they want. Clients who come prepared to be honest with themselves, vulnerable, open to building awareness, and accountability seem to make the greatest progress.
