I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado since 2001. I have my bachelor's and master's degrees in social work. I'm here to help you through whatever part of your journey or season you are on/in and would like support and gentle guidance. I look forward to meeting you. Most of my past focus has been working in different capacities, including therapy, with those who have chronic mental illness. However, I am also trained in brief-focused therapy and motivational interviewing.
I started out working in Social Services in nursing care homes. I have always loved working with the elderly, but throughout the years I focused more on adults with chronic mental illness and also worked with children. I retired after almost 4 years, but I miss the work, and the people, just to have the opportunity to help someone in some way.
On the first visit, I introduce the importance of setting goals for themselves and our work together. I follow up on every subsequent visit to track, praise progress, and motivate when needed. All I try to do is at whatever pace the client is comfortable with.
