My clients typically have a history of childhood and/or other trauma and need to learn to stabilize their troubling symptoms first. They are often looking for peace from these acute symptoms. They are tired of the constant pull of trauma on their minds, hearts, and bodies, and want to feel more in control of themselves. They want, more than anything, to put the trauma in the past. They may have trouble experiencing simple happiness. Some people have also experienced spiritual-religious abuse as part of their trauma. I am fully open to supporting them in that process.
I am a trauma specialist, treating individual adults age 25 and older. I seek to empower clients first by giving them information about how trauma affects the brain and nervous system as well as specific techniques to minimize trauma symptoms. Then we work on the longer-term issues. I offer several treatment options, including EMDR and Brainspotting.
