I'm Katia, and my primary focus is working with individuals who experience anxiety, stress, depression, and general life adjustment issues. I believe it's important to learn how to practice self-awareness so when difficult situations occur, we have a better sense of how to handle things, and hopefully, increased feelings of being in control. I primarily work with individuals who are struggling with stress, life adjustments, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I specialize in adolescents and young adults, as well as parenting issues.
My communication style is empathetic yet direct. I purposefully use humor to reflect that sometimes the situations we find ourselves in are just ridiculous, and also sometimes learning to laugh at ourselves is a forgotten coping skill. I use plain language and tend to use common scenario analogies.
