Life can be extremely challenging. In response, we develop coping mechanisms that work in the moment, but that ultimately hinder our ability to connect with ourselves and others in a healthy way. With my clients, we identify destructive/productive learned behaviors. We practice new ways of interacting and work through past and present struggles, regaining the ability to feel calm, love, and joy! Some of the issues I treat are anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, addiction, and narcissism (stemming from trauma). I work with adults and couples in various stages of life (marriage, new parents, divorce, midlife, etc.).
Therapy works when the right technique is used! I use a combination of methods from many modalities and tailor treatment to my clients' needs. I work from a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic perspective while drawing from Gestalt, Imago Relationship Therapy, Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy.
Sharing our innermost fears and desires with a therapist can feel daunting. With individual clients, I offer a safe space where you can feel deeply understood and supported as we work on growth. With couples, I create a space where each partner feels secure, seen, and open to change. I am passionate about the effectiveness of individual and couples therapy!
