Announcement icon I am offering to meet clients on local trails and hold sessions while walking. I am also offering telehealth.
I truly believe that young people are doing their best to navigate life and its difficulties. Sometimes they need a little help on their journey—as we all do at times. Therapy is a process of deep healing and growth that can give young people the tools needed to navigate life’s challenges. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I help children, teens, and young adults who are struggling with behaviors, choices, and relationships. It is my gift and my goal to connect with and guide them through a therapeutic process that teaches coping skills, mindfulness, adaptability, and self awareness.
Through play therapy, talk therapy, and EMDR, with specialities in queer and trans youth, adoptions, and trauma, I offer clients the tools needed to develop embodiment, regulation, and self-acceptance—the most healing thing of all. Backed by neuroscience, my approach directly engages the brain, targeting the underlying roots of behaviors and emotions.
Taking this step as a loving advocate for your child is a sign of your strength as a parent. Taking this step for yourself shows your readiness to grow and thrive. I look forward to getting to know you and your family, and would be honored to be part of your healing journey. Please visit KathleenSalmon.com to learn more or request a free consultation.

This group teaches Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills. DBT offers tools to help you navigate situations and express yourself, no matter the situation. After learning a skill, the group will complete an activity designed to reinforce the skill. Activities will focus on team building, but will also include yoga and solo activities. DBT skills are broken down to these five units: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation and Walking the Middle Path (these skills particularly address family relationships). The 5 units will be offered throughout the year.
