Hello, I'm Kathleen O'Neill and I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. My approach to therapy involves exploring concrete steps that you can take to address your challenges and achieve your goals. I have experience working with individuals struggling with substance use, mood disorders, relational issues, trauma, and anxiety. My approach to therapy is to utilize a solution-focused and client-centered framework that prioritizes the client's autonomy, strengths, and resources. I find a Cognitive Behavioral approach is useful for many different disorders.
I also trend towards using Motivational Interviewing, and practical problem-solving. I am comfortable working with individuals struggling with substance use, mood disorders, relational issues, trauma, and anxiety. I am experienced with adults aged 18 and over through the senior population.
In sessions, I will listen attentively to your concerns, validate your experiences and emotions, while kindly guiding you toward exploring constructive solutions. I enjoy using humor, and a clear but kind communication style.
