I use Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psycho-Educational Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, and Reality Therapy to assist in clients meeting goals. My approach is based on the belief that clients help to manage their counseling experience. They will learn and establish boundaries within their life that help them recognize the things they can control and what they cannot. Clients will understand that the therapeutic relationship is a partnership in which they will be expected to put in the effort for homework, be accountable, and present within counseling alliance.
My strengths are in diagnosing, treatment planning and assisting clients in meeting goals for a more satisfying life. I view the counseling process as an alliance between client and therapist and consider the client as the experts of their lives. Within the structure of the therapeutic relationship clients can access their inner strengths that promote change
My goal as a counselor is to provide a safe environment where we can explore struggles with aspects of life, primary interests, develop goals, identify strengths and assets as the client moves toward therapy goals.
