I am committed and passionate about helping individuals improve their quality of life. Sometimes we have such uncomfortable feelings that we don't know how we will make it through the day. Sometimes really bad things happen to us and around that we might not know how to manage. Sometimes our bodies and minds take over and we feel like we have no control over our lives. We try to understand and control the symptoms: the anxiety, depression, anger, headaches, insomnia, stomach pain and fatigue. Sound familiar? I believe that understanding the mind-body connection is the first step to improving your mental health and well-being.
Learning to take control and build resilience is an important step to creating the change you may be looking for. My treatment strategy is to provide an initial assessment and create treatment goals using a collaborative approach to best meet your needs. We will use a variety of techniques and skills drawn from recognized therapeutic modalities.
I served in US Army on active duty for twenty years working as a Mental Health and Career Counselor. I enjoy working with adults and children ages 5 and up, couples, families, and groups. I have experience across a variety of treatment settings including in-patient and out-patient, community mental health, school-based and private practice.
