Hello! I am Katie Liokis and i am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and board approved clinical supervisor. I have over 20 years experience in various mental health settings such as hospitals, clinics, non-profits, and correctional facilities. My major focus is mental health and substance abuse and helping my clients develop healthy coping skills and positive self reinforcement techniques to live the kind of life they envision for themselves.
I take an individualized approach with every client that includes a specific measurable, obtainable, reasonable, and time oriented goal setting process.
Generally my first sessions are a chance for us to get to know each other. I want to observe and listen to get an understanding of the client's reason for seeking therapy and the goals they want to achieve from our sessions. I want my clients to be in control of the sessions where they can feel open and honest to discuss anything with me.
