Welcome to my counseling practice with children, adolescents, emerging adults and parents. For the past 20 years it has been my privilege to provide sensitive and depth focused counseling with youth (ages 4-25). In our ever-increasing fast-paced world the young gain tremendously from guidance in how to look inward, gaining the skills of reflection and self-awareness.
Depending on age, different approaches are most effective but what is key is trust and authenticity. Play therapy for the young is a window to their inner world. Talk therapy with adolescents and emerging adults provides space to explore their experiences.
I find in listening or observing deeply there are threads through youth's stories that open up true vulnerabilities. When pain begins to be understood, healing can occur. With greater self-understanding and acceptance, the young develop a sturdy sense of themselves.
All parents deserve support and guidance amidst the uncertainties, challenges, and joys of raising children. I offer caregivers the opportunity to pause, reflect, and consult about their children’s patterns of behavior. Discussion with an experienced therapist affords both concrete tools as well as insights that open doors to greater connection.
