Katey Moody in Devon
Life is full of ups and downs, but too much 'down' is debilitating. Together we will explore what you want to change; unhealthy patterns, difficult behaviors/feelings, negative moods, anxieties etc. Short term, we'll explore practical coping skills for you to use, while longer term we'll work to understand how the past still acts out in your present life. With that awareness, negative patterns can be replaced with newly learnt healthier processes. I bring a lively, creative, experiential approach to help my clients find new ways of having healthy fulfilling connections with themselves and others.
I regard my speciality as the skills and mindset I bring to my work. Together we will not only 'talk' about change, we will 'practice' and learn experientially and so find therapy transformative from a number of perspectives; mind and body. My framework is based on Gestalt therapeutic principles.
I qualified in England as a psychotherapist and practised in my field for 10 years before moving to the US with my family in 2006. I have first hand of experience of the emotional upheaval of a major transition, I am a parent of teens and am very approachable.
