I enjoy working with people who have struggled for a long time with difficulties managing painful emotions, out-of-control behaviors, dissatisfying relationship patterns, uncertainty about identity and personal goals, and hopelessness. I specialize in working with clients who are seeking therapy for emotion- and relationship-based problems, including depression, suicidal ideation and self-harm, trauma, impulsivity, and anger issues.
I offer comprehensive dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help my clients radically accept painful life experiences, change harmful behaviors, and build a life worth living. My approach is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed treatments. I am certified in DBT by the Linehan Board of Certification.
I supervise postdoctoral residents and doctoral externs at Psychology Specialists of Maine and can frequently provide internal referrals to one of my trainees or licensed colleagues if my schedule is full.
