I specialize in Trauma/EMDR and Codependency/Attachment issues, seeing both couples and individuals. Trauma (i.e. repressed emotion and negative self-belief) manifests in psychological, emotional, and behavioral patterns that can be incredibly distressing. I've seen this poison relationships, where it presents as codependency, infidelity, addiction, and emotional neglect. In individuals it shows up as disordered eating/eating disorders (body dysmorphia, binge eating disorder, anorexia), OCD/anxiety, depression/anger issues, CPTSD, substance abuse disorders, and mood disorders. We'll start with the most distressing problem first!
I am extremely fortunate to have been trained by EMDR specialist Kimberly Shultz, who taught me to take a trauma-informed and holistic approach to all clients. As for my own therapeutic style, I am particularly educational, wanting my clients to actually understand what they're experiencing. I've found this to be especially validating and healing for them.
It's so easy to overthink finding a therapist, much like I overthought how to write this whole bio :) So easy to want it to be just "right." But I think that all that matters is it if moves us forward! If you'd like to learn more before making an appointment, please call or text to set up a free 15-min consultation. You are not alone!
