I specialize in Trauma Focused-Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (TF-EAP) and provide experiential therapy for those who are looking for something different than traditional office based or on-line therapy. I have over 20 years of experience working with children, youth, and families struggling with difficult behaviors, relationships, self-harm, suicide and Trauma. I have experience with and truly love working with all age groups. I began TF-EAP to fill the void in effective treatment for Developmental and Complex Trauma and Attachment Disruptions. I also work with ADHD, Anxiety and Depression.
A therapy session that includes horses can look very different than or very similar to a “traditional” talk based therapy session. TF-EAP centralizes connected relationships and principles over specific techniques. No horse experience is necessary. Almost 100% of the work with horses is on the ground. Rhythmic riding utilized only when clinically indicated.
My work focuses on relationships; I see therapy as a partnership. Part of the therapeutic process is an ongoing dialogue about what is making a difference, or not, for you and your family.
