Something important has led you to this search for a therapist. Overwhelming anxiety, depression, feelings of alienation, stuckness, struggles in relationships and at work - these are all signals that there is something deeper at play. Psychoanalytic therapy is a way of listening that uncovers hidden barriers and self defeating patterns. It is how we make meaning of what initially feels irrational, unspeakable, impossible. Through this process more choices emerge, new ways of being with yourself and others. It's possible to feel okay - it's possible to live a more creative, deeply fulfilling life.
I have over fifteen years of experience as a therapist and extensive post graduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. This form of therapy enables us to listen for and work through the impacts of intergenerational trauma, both within our family systems as well as the larger, inequitable systems in which we live.
I believe there is an important dimension of this work that happens when we sit together. I provide in-person therapy and I often work with people who have had unsuccessful experiences in past treatments. It’s both exciting and unsettling to begin with a new therapist. I welcome all the hopes and fears that you bring to our first session.
