You may be here because you are dealing with things like emotional detachment, insomnia, nightmares, avoidance, irritability, burnout, depression, and intrusive thoughts (which can all be reactions to painful life events). Our brains can and do heal just like other parts of our bodies, and that healing can have big impacts on not only ourselves but those we love.
Working with you I will provide a warm, nonjudgmental and objective space and help develop attainable goals. I love encouraging the people I'm lucky enough to work with and cheering them on as they meet those goals.
With 10 years' experience working as a trauma therapist, I am a certified EMDR therapist/approved consultant. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of therapy that helps you process trauma, so it reduces or alleviates present symptoms. I am strength based; blending humor, mindfulness skills, art, and sand tray in session as needed.
I know reaching out for help is a big step and can be intimidating. I offer no cost phone consultations (or email, if you prefer) to answer any questions you may have. I know life is busy, and it can be hard to find time for therapy. I currently offer in person and virtual sessions including evenings and weekends to accommodate busy schedules.
