There are many reasons people seek mental health care, perhaps they're going through a tough season in life or there has been complex trauma. Regardless of a client's reason for seeking therapy, my primary goal is to create a relationship supported by comfort and safety. I believe in collaborating with my clients to create a therapeutic plan that is specifically tailored to their individual needs and goals. For those interested I do offer a therapy animal to sit in on sessions and provide additional support.
One of my primary areas of focus is trauma and adverse experiences. The impacts of trauma are not only cognitive, but physiological as well. My goal is to help clients understand how trauma impacts them emotionally, cognitively, and physiologically. One of the modalities that I use to process trauma is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Regardless your reason to seek counseling, I am dedicated to meeting my clients with empathy and compassion, and helping them develop tools to reclaim their life. Please reach out to me with questions, I would love to hear from you!
