Anymore we all struggle with our emotions and being or feeling comfortable to express ourselves; feeling validated and still being able to cope and manage through our circumstances. I am trained in DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) for youth and adults, with a specialty in Complex PTSD, suicidal ideation, self harm and coping skills to sustain healthy behavior. we face and internal debate in finding a balance between acceptance of who we are and finding the ability to change. I work with teens to adults and believe feeling empowered in out choices and actually seeing what actions we have that perpetuate the cycle is essential.
DBT focuses on finding a balance between our emotional mind and our logical mind to find our wise mind, the state of mind that allows for both growth and acceptance. Dialectics is the focus on opposites and what two needs a client is struggling within themselves.
I work with youth, and their families to help their children find healthier coping skills as they manage the changes and events in their life.
