Therapy is a very personal and unique process. No two people are alike and there is no specific formula for healing. I offer grounded guidance and a safe space to fully explore yourself and open to your own innate wisdom. I use the arts, nature and somatic therapy to support people struggling with mental and emotional challenges so they can live more connected and joyful lives. I bring warmth and compassion to my work as well as encourage a sense of humor and play. I believe that when we get to the edge of our comfort level and bring a sense of curiosity and flexibility there is room for growth and healing.

I teach people about the deeper meaning of self care and how to live from a place of self compassion and acceptance. I help people connect to and appreciate the wisdom of their bodies. I work with trauma that gets held in the body and affects health. I help transform beliefs that get in the way of finding acceptance and joy in the present situation.

I find that the Expressive Arts and nature can provide an outlet and container for holding all feelings and experiences without judgment. When we are held safely in acceptance we can let go and relax. What unfolds from there is limitless!

Karina Colliat's Groups

Girls Rock!

Girls Rock is a social/emotional support group. We use mindfulness, arts, and games to build resources and confidence, and to manage stress, depression and anxiety. Teen girls are in a transition of becoming more of who they are; more independent, discovering their values, making choices, developing relationships and differentiating from their families. Girls Rock! is a safe place to do all this. Girls will: -practice skills that will ground and guide them -build relationships that are respectful and authentic -learn the art of Council, -spend time in nature to develop a connection with the natural world and have fun!

Expressive Arts Support Group for Chronic Disease

Along with the physical distress of disease can come emotional and mental challenges such as depression, anger, loneliness and grief. This group will provide space to share the unique process of living with disease. We will have the opportunity to be heard and supported in community. And we will use the arts to hold the larger mystery of what it means to carry disease at this time in our society as well as exploring how we relate to it personally. Also, there will be space to share concrete strategies for dealing with challenges of financial demands, time and stress management.
