I provide a compassionate, emotionally-attuned space for clients to understand how earlier life experiences have influenced their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I assist clients in identifying learned habits that stand in the way of the life they desire. I work collaboratively with clients to promote greater emotional resiliency and the ability to constructively deal with life's challenges resulting in more joy and fulfillment. I work with adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, grief, low self-esteem, sexual identity issues, gender issues, relationship difficulties and life transitions.
I specialize in providing trauma-informed treatment. My orientation is psychodynamic but I find that integrating cognitive behavioral approaches and EMDR can help clients more rapidly resolve traumatic experiences. I am certified in EMDR at the highest level (EMDRIA certification).
I have been a supervisor for 10 years and I find nothing more satisfying than helping ASW's and MFTA's hone their clinical skills and discover their talents as they work toward their licensure.
