I can provide a space to process, offer alternate points of view for reflection, and work with clients to find solutions to meet support needs. Clients will be open to considering possibilities and addressing barriers to change. They'll want to problem solve, whether personally or professionally, to move forward. I am licensed in California and Iowa with a focus on dance/movement therapy in the Quad Cities area. In California, only online sessions are available.
Having the experience of working with people at all levels of care, I understand how mental health is impacted by life changes, physical ailments, and social challenges. An integrative approach includes acknowledging that outside stressors, things that are difficult to change and still need to be dealt with, affect mental wellness.
Serving as a sounding board, if nothing else, is an important part of the therapeutic process. I want clients to feel the therapy session, whether 20 minutes or an hour, is a safe place to express themselves, feel mutually respected, and, ideally, understood.
