My clinical treatment experiences have included work with children diagnosed with a developmental delay, children and caregivers who have experienced trauma, children & caregivers coping with foster placement, & families from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. I am trained in EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, & Child-Parent Psychotherapy, a dyadic (parent-child) treatment for infants, toddlers, & young children who have experienced intense stress, trauma, physical or emotional separation from loved ones, and/or loss. I aim to strengthen the protective factors found within these primary relationships.
I offer individual and family counseling services, using clinical art therapy in combination with evidence-based practices to assist children and families at all developmental stages who are struggling with a variety of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. My specialty is addressing trauma and stress-related emotions and behaviors.
Through my own years of clinical practice, training, & motherhood, I have come to believe that the nurture a child receives is as important as the nature the child is born with, that caring for children is as challenging as it is rewarding, & that it truly "takes a village," to not only raise a child, but to support those responsible for a child's care.
