Hi and welcome! Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me and how I approach therapy. Life is more demanding and stressful these days than ever before. There are many ways people cope with personal challenges. Going to therapy is just one option. Therapy provides a unique opportunity to explore yourself, your relationships with others, and your goals and aspirations. My approach is simple: together, let's find practical ways to cope with personal issues and, if appropriate, let's look into how your past experiences have affected how you are currently coping. I will provide a safe space to explore this personal journey.
My desire to help others lead me to a career in Psychology. I received a BS in Psychology at the University of Washington in 1987 and my Ph.D. from CSPP-LA in 1992. Before I began private practice in 1995, I worked at several local universities, including USC, UCR, and CSUN. After a hiatus in 2014 to raise a family, I am back to practicing once again.
Finding the right therapist for you is important. It's a good idea to take your time to find a good match; someone who you feel you can trust and who you believe has the competence to help. If you are interested in working with me, I offer a free 15 minute session so that we can meet, chat about your goals for therapy, and see if we are a good match.
