As a licensed clinical psychologist and certified psychoanalyst, I facilitate my clients' efforts toward self-reflection, help them gain a clearer understanding of their life experiences, and bring awareness to their patterns of relating. My orientation is primarily psychodynamic/psychoanalytic, an approach that promotes self-exploration and insight, along with productive behavior change. I take an active and engaged role with my clients by asking questions, offering alternative perspectives, and suggesting new ways of thinking about issues that may be getting in the way of living a more satisfying life.
I approach therapy as a collaborative process, with the goal of reducing painful experience, increasing self-understanding, and developing deeper and more satisfying relationships in order to live a life of vitality and meaning. I specialize in addressing life and career transitions, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief.
In addition to my private practice, I am teaching faculty and co-chair of the Independent Track at the New York University Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, and Clinical Supervisor at the Graduate Center, City University of New York.
