I see every patient as an individual and collaboratively we assess what kind of work would be best. I use an integrated therapeutic approach drawing on insight oriented, cognitive-behavioral and mind/body modalities. My style is direct. The goal is for people to manage relationships better and meet personal goals. Simply said, therapy is used to help people cope better with problems in their lives. Whether it's changing their behavior or the way they think about things, therapy brings a better sense of well being and a reduction in stress and distress.
The most common reason people choose to come into my practice is because of relationship issues. I work with individuals and couples in a wide range of relationships: heterosexual, same sex, polyamorous or other non-monogamous situations. People also come in for help with anxiety, depression, loss and grief.
I have expertise in working with people who are facing fertility challenges, anxiety around pregnancy and postpartum issues. The best way to reach me is by email DrK@DrKMarans.com.
